How to Program Range Rover Vogue 08 PCF7941 Key with Autel IM608

 

Many people had the same problem programming a spare key on this car- Range Rover Vogue 2008 PCF7941. They cannot program the key to this car with Autel MaxiIM IM608, Xtool, Zed full etc. Tried the same key sport/discovery it still failed.

Here’re tips on programming spare keys to this car.

Vogue 08 does not have CEM nor KVM module. Vouge has Lear leads box. It looks exactly the same as a BMW EWS. Under middle speaker or dash.

Anything with Hu92 is either EWS or Lear Leeds. Anything Hu101 is CEM.

Pull Lear module out and do it on bench.

Read eeprom 8 leg. Go in XP400 or XP400 Pro Programmer under Land rover Chip read and write. It will show you the wiring diagram.

Just make sure your transponder chip and frequency same as the original key.
on bench its doesn’t matter if you got the original key or not. It will work.

If adding via obd you need a dealer key.

If you haven’t got a dealer key then program from the immobilizer (LEAR) module. If you have a working key then you can clone the id46 chip.
You can use either remote with pcf7941 which will add the remote automatically or you can use BMW remote with separate id46 chip and manually add the remote as you would an EWS system BMW remote.  Transpoder clone with vvdi mini key tool (or any devices can clone id 46, handy baby, keydiy kd-x2, CN900mini etc ) remote programming by manual.

This just applies to the Range Rover Vogue. Range Rover Sport, Discovery 3 are completely different systems but most of people can’t seem to tell the difference.

Vogue is a BMW keyblade and immo different to sport which is a ford blade and different immo to vogue, one was built by bmw when owned other was when ford owned landrover

The Sport/Disco3 key is not compatible.

Original key should be pcf7936 but you can precode the pcf7941 into dealer key as said. Just pull the Lear box and crack on with it.

FYI: Easy with working key adapt to car with SKP900 or smart pro, londsor remote go in at same time.

How to Program the BMW Key

 

Programming the keyless entry on your BMW key fob is a simple procedure, one that most drivers in and around Syosset should find easy to do. There are 2 basic methods; one to use when you already have a working key but want to program additional keys, and the other when you’re starting from scratch without a working key. Programming Additional BMW Key Fobs

So if you have a working key fob, but wish to program additional keys, follow these steps:

1. Take the working key fob along with the ones you want to program inside the car with all doors and windows closed.
2. Put the working key into the ignition and turn to position 1. At this point, the dash lights and accessories should turn on.
3. Turn the key back and remove.
4. On the working key, hold down the unlock button and press the lock button (the BMW logo) 3 times, then release the unlock button. The doors will then automatically lock and unlock.
5. Take the new key and hold down the unlock button while pressing the BMW logo 3 times, then release the unlock button. Again the doors should lock and unlock, and you’re done.

Programming a New Key from Scratch

These instructions are for programming a new key when you do not have a working key fob.

1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to position 1 and back rapidly 5 times.
2. Remove the key
3. Hold the unlock button and press the BMW logo 3 times, then release the unlock button.
4. If you have additional keys you’d like to program at this time, repeat step 3 within 30 seconds from the original key programming.
5. Turn on the ignition to complete the process.

Before you start, connect x300dp plus to WiFI, constantly available Hotspot or Local signal. Online calculation requires network connection.
Go to update make sure you have both gm data as well as the gm IMMO software V33.24 or above.

Connect CAN FD adapter to the OBDB port using OBD cable and OBDII cable
Select IMMO, then under American’s GM and GM V33.30

Next, select Program keys – GMC – USA Canada – Yukon – Proximity – 2021 – Without Pin Code – All Keys Lost

Choose Enter to erase all the keys on the system
Ensure CAN FD GM adapter is in place to continue
Press the Push to Start button continually or open and close door every 10 seconds during communication

Registration condition

There is no DTCs.
Here must be all Keyless Remotes which want to register. One Keyless Remote have to be in vehicle.

Notes when registering

Be sure the following to decrease the source of noise as much as possible while registering the Keyless Remote. Turn OFF switches such as a navigation system and audio. Separate the for diagnostic tool from the Keyless Remote as much as possible approximately 1m(3 feet). close all windows, sunroofs, and doors.

Turn the ignition switch off.

(Don’t press the foot brake and press the engine start/stop button.)

Take one original keyless access remote into the vehicle.

And remove all other keyless access remotes from the vehicle.

Is the ignition turned on by pressing Start button twice? Yes

Whether is a new model(generally refer to the model after 2020)? Yes

Key programming succeeded.

Press “Yes” to learn next one, press “No” to complete.

Turn the ignition switch off.

(Don’t press the foot brake and press the engine Start/Stop button.)

Are both the keyless access and immobilizer indicator lights turned off? Yes

Once key learning is successful, synchronize the new key with the vehicle by turning the ignition ON and OFF a few times.

Just follow the prompts…

Done!

Note: This does not program the remote door lock on the key. That is programmed by an additional process that does not require any tools. To do that you’ll repeat a maneuver 4 times:
